  Last Month (July 08)

August 08
I'll not be doing a lot  for the site this month (unless I get very bored), I've got to get my garage built and I've got couple of bikes of bikes to spanner..
My RX is still running well and has now done 2000 miles since I rebuilt the engine (got to say sep-kegworthengineering earned their reccommended mention - they re rounded my big ends).
Still don't know how much riding I'll be able to do, cash is tight and the body is still complaining too much

OK, someone twisted my arm a bit and I added a few piccies to the classic & vintage pages, a few more bike business' have been added and a couple of been removed.
Someone else said my photo's are not art, I can see their part, but I'm not trying to be an artist, some of the bikes I photgraph are in my eyes.
What ever, life goes on and you can see learn a bit about bikes and find where to get your parts.
Have fun

I've added a couple of photo's of two more Moto-Guzzi machines, a 1953 250cc Aroni & a Magni 1000. I've also made a new BSA section, a few photo's and adverts from the archives of " The Motor Cycle"

Don't know what's happened this morning, but I can't log on to update my site and I couldn't even find it! That is because UK2 who host this site up graded me.
Took a ride to Reading to get an exhaust, fitted then on the way back home, I lost all my lights (except my indicators), my rev counter, heat sensers, fuel guage,  I thought it was just a fuse gone, but all fuses were ok. The bike fired up on the button as usual too.
20-08-08

I checked all the wires using a continuety tester. No problems with the internal wires. found which was the live from the main switch, spliced a wire into it, added a fuse and spliced the other end to the brown/white which is the live for those electrical systems, checked them. all electricals back on line.
In too much pain to ride the bike and test it properly  tonight, but glad I got it sorted (looks like the bike will pass it's MOT - I can't find any fault that might fail it).

I've been given another 10 copies of "The Motor Cycle" so there will be more entires using info from there.
I should say a big thanx to the person who sent me a digi camera which was very muuch needed as my video cam has given up the ghost after 10yrs

Today hasn't been a good day, took the bike fer MOT, two little niggling things, one was a grip which is loose, but can't fall off and never has been a problem, (I don't think that is a fail legaly speaking) chain need adjusting, no problem, and there was a sticking piston on my front caliper ( front brake sticking, a good reason for a fail) which is not a real problem for me, just remove caliper, push caliper piston to the limet, clean, add a small amount copper slip to the piston and replace pads and caliper back on  fork)
The problem was made a lot harder as on of the bolts had seized into the fork. It rounded off, and no way could I remove it. I have had strip all fairings, to take off the radiato and exhaust (I wnated to put new gaskets in anyway) to prop up the bike on it's back wheel off the ground. to remove the front wheel so I can get the fork into the workshop. Then I can grind off the head of the bolt, use a drift to remove the bolt from the fork and hopefuly, remove the plate which holds the caliper to the fork. Then I can sort out the sticking piston. At least I had a plan. I doubt it will be done for tomorrow, but I got 9 more days before I'd have to pay a second time for the MOT.
If that wasn't bad enough Nemesis III (the computer I have been using) has got it's self a virus, I'm not happy at all, as I'm having to use nemesis II on a landline like before. It could be worse, I might not have been able to publish anything at all, and lost the site. At least that's safe enough at the moment, as the asswords have been changed (just as a precortion).
So at least you know why "Pain stops play" for a day or two while I get things sorted. Bike comes first, then computer. If that is possable, if not, I'll just use Nemesis for a while and download the photographs I too earlier this week.
Have fun if you can (I won't, I'm in agony)

Nearly sorted the bike. Couldn't use a drift as the bolt was too siezed. I had to drill it out, both the solid shaft and the end with the thread. Thanks to Ian (one of my neighbours), for the use of a  small pillar drill. We got the bolt out (without damaging the thread), and I slowley rebuilt the rest of the bike. All I have to do now is bleed the system and that should be that. It is probably working enough for the MOT man, but I'm not happy with it. I know how well those breakes work when they are set up properly.
Not even thought about sorting Nemesis III yet, niether have I sorted out last weeks photo's. I'll get around to that after I got the bike 100%.
Take it easy ( I am)

Watched this mornings Moto Gp as usual on Eurosport. Good to see Bradley get second. The racing has been entertaining.  The 250s' were a bit wild. Rossi won again (I'm writing that with 7 laps to go). Now Rossi is equal with Mr J. Agostini on race wins. J.T. did well to get 6th.
Brakes done and tested. Re-test tomorrow. Then I'll have more time for the site, and getting the garden landscaped a bit & the shed/garage/workshop built.
Plans for those photo's of foxys diner last Monday will be done very soon now, virus or no virus.
Have fun (I did testing the bike)

This goes out for ALL the brothers & sisters we have lost

I saw you,
hug your purse closer to you in the grocery store line.
But, you didn't see me,
put an extra $10.00 in the collection plate last Sunday.

I saw you,
pull your child closer when we passed each other on the sidewalk.
But, you didn't see me,
playing Santa at the local mall.

  I saw you,
change your mind about going into the restaurant.
>But, you didn't see me,
when I took time off from work to run toys to the homeless.

I saw you,
stare at my long hair.
But, you didn't see me,
and my friends cut ten inches off for Locks of Love.

I saw you,
roll your eyes at our leather coats and gloves.
But, you didn't see me,
and my brothers donate our old coats and gloves to those that had
none.

I saw you,
look in fright at my tattoos.
But, you didn't see me,
cry as my children were born and have their names written over and
in my
heart.

I saw you,
change lanes while rushing off to go somewhere.
But, you didn't see me,
going home to be with my family.

I saw you,
complain about how loud and noisy our bikes can be.
But, you didn't see me,
when you were changing the CD and drifted into my lane.

I saw you,
yelling at your kids in the car.
But, you didn't see me,
pat my child's hands, knowing he was safe behind me.

I saw you,
reading the newspaper or map as you drove down the road.
But, you didn't see me,
squeeze my wife's leg when she told me to take the next turn.

I saw you,
race down the road in the rain.
But, you didn't see me,
get soaked to the skin so my son could have the car to go on his
date.

I saw you,
run the yellow light just to save a few minutes of time.
But, you didn't see me,
trying to turn right.

I saw you,
cut me off because you needed to be in the lane I was in.
But, you didn't see me,
leave the road.

I saw you,
waiting impatiently for my friends to pass.
But, you didn't see me.
I wasn't there.

I saw you,
go home to your family.
But, you didn't see me.
Because, I died that day you cut me off.

I was just a biker,.....
A person with friends and a family.
But, you didn't see me.
