 Last Month (June-2010)

This Month, ....July

Research on the Sunbeam S7 & S8's now done. Looks lke I got them wrong way round last time I took piccies of one. Thanx to the lads & lass' at classicglory.com/ . Just as well I double checked things, someone told me they were S4 & 5's and I nearly beleived him. S8's have the skinny front wheel. 3 new Sunbeam pages built today
I've checked three of the four Sunbeam links I have, all show number plates. I remove the details on modern stuff, usualy just in case the owner ain't paid the road tax, is seen at the cafe/race track when supposed to be at work, or is on the dodgy side. I'd hate to let my photo's be the reason they got nicked or lost their jobs.
If you just knew how much time and effort it takes to make one of my new pages, you'd probably be a bit amazed. here's a step by step giude.
1. Making sure my bike is roadworthy before setting out
2. Making sure cash is availabe to get to venue and get in.
3. Checking camera for space, charged battery etc.
4. Hobbling around taking the photo's (Not easy this - if you know which bits of my bodyare knackered, you'd understand)
5  Downloading photo's (1hr 30min for the 400 I took Monday)
6. Renaming every photo and then sorting out the relevent folder 15min per 10 photo's if I know the model or info. the first 15models were easy for Mondays meet, only took a day, the rest would have taken another two days.
7. Resizing and rotating where neccessary. Time in photosuite, deleting number plate details if neccessary. Enhancing images when neccessary, although, sometimes even photsuite can't help in enhancing -. up to 15 min per image
8. Making a new page, formatting it, sorting links to my logos and them finaly getting the image on the page, and another resize to fit. (usualy about 1hr)
9 Sorting links to the page produced, so others can actualy find it. 5min each
10. Publishing the page/logo's and images, publishing all pages thet have the link to the page - about 30 min per page using broadband and images I'm using now.
11. Research. I don't research all models, many I know already (30yrs riding), but I can take hours researching some models. Sometimes I actualy get it right. Mostly I get nothing.
So if you think it's easy, you better think again.

In the last days, I've put about half of my photo's from Cassington (there are a few more to come, if I find the time) I've added a few more in the A-2-Z and today I've added another from the H cafe that I took on Saturday.

O.K. I've been busy.
I heard one of the Bro's had an accident on his way to Cassington. I know which hospital (same one that fixed my left leg back in '80) I ain't seen you for years Bro. I still respect (& how Kathrine?). I hope you get well soon.
I've added two more classic Brits to the cassington page (both also in the A-2-Z).
Check them out if you get time.
Romley, your bike should pass the M.O.T. tomorrow. Think the '84 Honda will do you proud, just look after it (I think you will). I didn't tell you it a bit of a classic besides being the right bike for you.
Right I got other things to do
Have fun you lot.

Downloading the photo's from West Hagbourne, about 300 usable photo's (about 30 bikes), I'll be starting on those in the next few days (don't know if I'll make Calne, but wants to).
A couple of amendeds I've got to do for he Cassington page and at least one more to add. The cotton won a prize (cool) and I've had another chat with the details this time.
I've still got to fabricate one more exhaust bracket for the cans (one made but not yet fitted) and I got to say, I might be in a lot of pain but life is definatly worth living.
Thanks to all of you have turned up at H-Cafe, Cassington, West Hagbourne and the like (especialy to those who turned up with rare machines). Even if I didn't get to photo all the bikes I wanted to put on the site were are unable to photograph (lack of space between machines), you all mede me smile and managed to amaze me. You are heroes in my eyes.

 First 5 from West Hagbourne.
21-07-2010

Thought the pain was bad yesterday, so stayed in bed trying to rest while putting the West Hagbourne pages together. I also thought the pain would ease a bit for today. I thought wrong. Today, pulling out teeth with pliers would be just a distraction. Can't even concentrate enough to watch a movie.
Days like this happen too often. So often you'd think you'd get used to them. You don't.
Anyway, I'll do some more when I'm ready.
22-07-2010

Been bit a bit better last coupleof days, not able to get on the bike, or make that bracketyet, but nevermind, you got another 6 from West Hagbourne (and two on the Moto Guzzi pages).
Hope all you lot are all having fun (especialy those at Calne today)
 More soon(ish)
24-07-2010 (got the dates sorted too)

3 Custom bikes and two WWII bikes now on the West Hagbourne pages.... A few more bikes to do yet.
I was up from 4am Staurday till 6am today (can't sleep due to pain). Up from 3pm and back doing the photo's. Life could be better, but it could be worse, I know I'm better off than some I know (and at least no one phoned me at 8:30 this morning). Back on the bike tomorrow I hope
Have fun you lot

One new trike from West Hagbourne. Another new Ducati on my ducati page (and I fixed the missing piccies of the missing Elite). & Photo's of the unfinished 1962 Ducati 250 Narrowcase racer.   I know I have not got as many models covered than some other sites, but the ones I have covered, I did a better job. That's because I only use my own photo's. making the dogdragon pages (with a rare exception when it came to 1955 Wooler photo's & info).
Updated the Custom page a bit today too.
 back soon(ish)

I just hope you lot remember to scroll down,
that is 1 of 10 photo's on the tribsa page

This goes out for ALL the brothers & sisters we have lost

I saw you,
hug your purse closer to you in the grocery store line.
But, you didn't see me,
put an extra $10.00 in the collection plate last Sunday.

I saw you,
pull your child closer when we passed each other on the sidewalk.
But, you didn't see me,
playing Santa at the local mall.

  I saw you,
change your mind about going into the restaurant.
>But, you didn't see me,
when I took time off from work to run toys to the homeless.

I saw you,
stare at my long hair.
But, you didn't see me,
and my friends cut ten inches off for Locks of Love.

I saw you,
roll your eyes at our leather coats and gloves.
But, you didn't see me,
and my brothers donate our old coats and gloves to those that had
none.

I saw you,
look in fright at my tattoos.
But, you didn't see me,
cry as my children were born and have their names written over and
in my
heart.

I saw you,
change lanes while rushing off to go somewhere.
But, you didn't see me,
going home to be with my family.

I saw you,
complain about how loud and noisy our bikes can be.
But, you didn't see me,
when you were changing the CD and drifted into my lane.

I saw you,
yelling at your kids in the car.
But, you didn't see me,
pat my child's hands, knowing he was safe behind me.

I saw you,
reading the newspaper or map as you drove down the road.
But, you didn't see me,
squeeze my wife's leg when she told me to take the next turn.

I saw you,
race down the road in the rain.
But, you didn't see me,
get soaked to the skin so my son could have the car to go on his
date.

I saw you,
run the yellow light just to save a few minutes of time.
But, you didn't see me,
trying to turn right.

I saw you,
cut me off because you needed to be in the lane I was in.
But, you didn't see me,
leave the road.

I saw you,
waiting impatiently for my friends to pass.
But, you didn't see me.
I wasn't there.

I saw you,
go home to your family.
But, you didn't see me.
Because, I died that day you cut me off.

I was just a biker,.....
A person with friends and a family.
But, you didn't see me.
